Sharpening the Axe with ELCA

"Chop Wood"

The ELCA Chargers hope to build on last year's State Championship run.  With 9 returning starters on the offense and 7 on the defense, the Chargers should again be competitive in the GHSA Single A Private.

On offense, the Charger's run game is in good hands with TB Josh Mays and edge threats Justin Menard, Jelan Pearson, and Josh Holt.  WR Sean Queen returns to provide a big play threat in the passing game.  QB Brayden Rush returns, as well as newcomer Nate McCollum, whoshould also make a difference. The line is anchored by 3 year starter Zach Jones.

On defense, d-linemen Harrison Taylor and Tyrese Black return, along with the entire linebacking corp of Johnathan Youngblood, George Shockley and Xavier Langston.  In the secondary, Tre Douglas is backafter a successful junior season.

The team also welcomes back All-State defensive player Khaleb Hood, who sat out last season with a knee injury.  In addition to Hood's secondary skills, he also brings energy as a dynamic punt returner and adds another explosive kick-off returner to a team that had 3 players return kick-offs for scores last season.

We loved seeing all the support form both teams!
